At Game Builder Creation Camps we combine learning and fun and bring it to a whole new level. At this camp your child will actually design, develop and create "one of a kind" computer games. These courses were developed to teach introductory programming skills and also encourage creative thinking. The Game Builder program blends these traits into an exceptionally fun experience.

Introductory Video Game Creation Program

Starting with basic commands, campers will be taught in a step-by-step progression how to build a game that they design. Camp begins with an introduction to Game Maker software including adding rooms, building walls, adding backgrounds, warping to new levels, music, sound effects and many other great techniques. The first few days focus on programming basics and by late week the children are well on their way to creating their own unique game. At the end of camp each child receives a copy of their game as well as their own copy of the software and walk-through guide. Campers can continue to develop their game and create new ones as well. Finally they will receive t-shirts, trophies and a certificate with photo. Click Here for Locations and dates!

Create and Program Your Own Car Racing Video Game

NEW IN 2009!!!!! Design & program your own car race game using Game Maker software. This course is appropriate for both beginners and students that have completed the introductory program. In this program; campers have a blast and develop basic programming skills while creating their very own car racing game. The course begins with the selection of race cars from our custom resource folders. Next they then program the cars to accelerate, brake, turn and set limits. Students then design & create their very own race track complete with obstacles and barriers. Additionally attendees create opponents, program the race, set-up check points & finish lines and build a Graphic User Interface (GUI) to track laps. Time permitting they may even add mini-maps and a car stereo. Our goal is to challenge campers' creativity while sprinkling in some physics and geometry concepts. Click Here for Locations and dates!

Computer Animation Story Camp

COMING IN 2009!!!!! Computer animation; participants are introduced to programming by creating short 3D animated movies with a focus on fun. Campers will create animated stories using high level animations that allow them to program interactions between characters. They will use a gallery of 3D characters, scenery and custom animations that are designed to help develop their story ideas. The students will learn basic programming skills and have the opportunity broaden their imagination. Click Here for Locations and dates!

Imagine how much fun they will have designing and programming professional looking video games.  All that’s required is some computer know-how and a bit of imagination because there are no limits! Our camp uses state of the art computers & software combined with expert instruction.
